The Development Officer is responsible for assisting in and supporting all aspects of fundraising operations at HTC, with a special focus on alumni stewardship and advancement.
Responsibilities
In coordination with the Director of Alumni Affairs, engage HTC alumni worldwide through individual outreach and broad-based touchpoints.
Cultivates donors through consistent, thoughtful stewardship, leading to individual solicitations, direct mail appeals, special events, and capital and legacy giving.
Researches alumni data and maintains the accuracy and integrity of the donor database by ensuring that all information is current and up to date.
Provides support to various committees and volunteers during fundraising campaigns and events.
Assists in scheduling meetings with prospective funders and donors.
Serves as an ambassador for HTC to the broader Jewish and higher education community; attend community functions and engage with donors to build successful partnerships.
Qualifications
Education and Training
Bachelor’s degree
3-5 years of knowledge and proven experience in nonprofit or related fields
Proficient in Microsoft Suite, with donor database experience preferred
Desire to build external relationships and key partnerships
Able to represent HTC in a positive light to the broader community
Skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
High level organizational and time management skills, works well under deadlines
A genuine people person
Goal-oriented and self-starter
Team player while motivated to work independently
Able to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate effectively with alumni, donors, board members, and other staff
Detail oriented with meticulous record keeping abilities
